SUBJ: DIRECT ACCESS CLOUD MIGRATION - ADVANCE PREPARATIONS FOR UPCOMING OUTAGE TO DIRECT ACCESS

1. This ALCOAST announces the upcoming migration of Direct Access to the Coast Guard AWS GovCloud environment. This is a complex project due to substantial data transfer and critical interface connections with multiple government partners, including the Department of Defense and US Treasury.

2. Starting 2000 EDT, Friday, May 10, 2024, the migration will begin and there will be no access to Direct Access. Direct Access is scheduled to be reactivated at 0600 EDT, Thursday, May 16, 2024.

3. The Direct Access migration impacts all Active Duty, Reservist, Retirees, Annuitants, and civilian supervisors of military members. During this timeframe, access for all users will be unavailable. This means no login access, including no ability to submit absence requests, no processing of pay or separation transactions and no processing of orders to include Reserve IDT, ADT, etc. This outage period was selected to minimize impacts to normal Mid-Month and End-Month payroll processing.

4. Commanders, Commanding Officers, Officers-in-Charge and Command Senior Enlisted Leaders should advise all members of the need to complete any required work prior to 2000 EDT, Friday, May 10, 2024.

5. If you have any questions, please contact LT Brenda J. Rosado, COMDT (CG-1B1) at (202) 475-5026, or Brenda.J.Rosado@uscg.mil.

6. Dr. D. M. Navarro, Executive Director for Personnel Readiness (DCMS-DPR-XD), sends.

7. Internet release is authorized
