Reserve Officer Active Status Panel (ROASP)

Officers in the grades Commander and below with a Reserve commission who are non-selected for promotion on an ADPL or RCM selection list one or more times may apply for affiliation with the Ready Reserves via this designation panel.

Application Package Requirements

Incomplete/incorrect packages will be returned without action

Written request for a Reserve Commission in CG standard memo (templated linked below)
Approved OPM Separation Authorization
Approved Report of Medical Assessment (DD - 2697)

NOTE: If you already hold a Reserve Commission (via DCO, OCS or are on EAD, etc) this is the panel to apply to even if you are on Active Duty and have never been a drilling Reservist. Any questions regarding the type of Commission held by an Officer may be directed to: Boards and Panels

Application Timing

Applicants desiring SELRES positions may apply during the appropriate Assignment Year (AY). Please visit RPM-2 website for specific information regarding assignments.

Military Service Obligation (MSO)

MSO does not guarantee Reserve affiliation, however, if a member with MSO is offered a Reserve commission the member is obligated to accept. Involuntary separation negates a member's MSO.

General ROASP Timeline

November: ROASP announcement message published via ALCGPSC
January: Application packages due to RPM-1
February: ROASP convenes
Approximately 4 - 6 weeks after board convenes: ROASP results announced
