CG Auxiliary Health Care

Auxiliary health care professionals include Physicians (MD, DO), Dentists (DDS, DMD), Physician Assistants (PA), Nurse Practitioners (NP), and Pharmacists. These primary care medical and dental professionals are eligible to volunteer in Coast Guard clinics where the Coast Guard is already providing a similar level of healthcare and within guidelines and restrictions established by COMDTINST M6010.2 (series). This instruction does not apply to other categories of health care providers (e.g., Registered Nurses (RN), emergency medical services providers (e.g., EMTs, Paramedics, First Responders, etc.). However, Auxiliary members possessing these allied health care skills may volunteer to work in Coast Guard health care facilities in accordance with COMDTINST M6000.1 (series).
