Traveling From Louis Armstrong International Airport or points WEST

  • Exit airport and merge onto I-10 East
  • Keep left to take I-610 East via Exit 230 toward Slidell
  • Merge onto I-10 East via Exit 239-A-B on the LEFT toward Louisa St/Almonaster Blvd.
  • Merge onto i-510 S/LA-47 via Exit 246A towards Chalmette
  • Take the Almonaster blvd exit, Exit 2C toard Old Gentilly Rd.
  • Veer LEFT to take the Almonaster Blvd. ramp
  • Turn LEFT onto Almonaster Blvd/Almonaster Ave (Almonaster Blvd/Ave turns into Old Gentilly Rd.)
  • The Coast Guard Gate #5 is located approximately 0.5 miles down the road on the RIGHT. If it is after business hours, Gate #7 at the Main Enterence of the NASA Michoud Facility will be available to allow accessibility to the base.

Traveling From points East on I-10 WEST

  • From I-10 West, MERGE onto I-510 S/LA-47 vai Exit 246A toward NASA/Chalmette
  • Take the Almonaster Blvd exit, Exit 2C
  • Veer LEFT when the exit splits to take the Almonaster Blvd. ramp
  • Turn LEFT onto Almonaster Blvd/Almonaster Ave (Almonaster Blvd/Ave becomes Old Gentilly Rd.)
  • The Coast Guard Gate #5 is located approximately 0.5 miles down the road on the RIGHT. If it is after business hours, Gate #7 at the Main Enterence of the NASA Michoud Facility will be available to allow accessibility to the base.
