The Morale, Well Being, and Recreation (MWR) Program mission is to uplift the spirits of the Coast Guard Family and be an essential element of Coast Guard readiness and retention through customer-owned and driven MWR Programs and services around the world. 

Base Los Angeles-Long Beach does not have a full time MWR director. The regional MWR director is the local technical expert on MWR issues, as well as, monitoring and verifying local morale programs are financially stable.
