Health, Safety and Work-life Department

We provide medical and dental care to active duty Coast Guard and DoD personnel. Our clinic also provides these services to dependents and retired personnel on a space available basis. We also manage the Work/Life program and the Safety and Environmental Health program.

Dental care is available to Active Duty Service Members (ADSM) at Kodiak, Ketchikan and Juneau clinics through assigned PHS Dental Officers.  Members assigned to AIRSTA Sitka utilize the Active Duty Dental program and receive care from a civilian dentist. Dependents receive dental care through network Met Life providers.

A Pharmacy Officer assigned to Base Kodiak manages Pharmacy Operations in Kodiak and procurement of authorized pharmaceuticals for dispensing by eight Independent Duty HS assigned to six afloat and two ashore units.  Members assigned to Sitka, Ketchikan and Juneau clinics receive prescribed medication through network pharmacies or TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy (TMOP).

Active Duty Family Members (ADFMs) within the District Seventeen (D17) are enrolled to TRICARE Prime (Anchorage only), TRICARE Prime Remote or TRICARE standard depending on their location and personal choice.

Work-Life offices are located in Juneau and Kodiak; services provided include information & referral for adoption reimbursement, elder care, family/workplace violence, relocation, transition, scholarships, special needs, family childcare, spouse employment and family readiness. Other services include; Substance Abuse Prevention, Critical Incident Stress Management, Sexual Assault and Suicide Prevention."
