The Facilities Engineering Department (FED) is responsible for the maintenance, repair, construction and environmental compliance of all Coast Guard housing, operational and support buildings, and grounds at Joint Base Cape Cod. FED provides vehicle and equipment maintenance, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC services, as well as hazardous waste disposal, and fuel tank management. The Environmental, Safety and Health (EHS) Division manage base-wide compliance programs, maintain all permits, and trains tenant commands in best practices. The Base Cape Cod's Facilities Engineering Department's guiding principle is to provide Base Cape Cod and its outlying units with the highest degree of customer service and civil engineering support, ensuring the U.S Coast Guard has the infrastructure to meet today's, as well as, future missions.
