Personnel Support Department


Base Boston Personnel Support Department operates under the technical direction of the U.S. Coast Guard Personnel Service Center in Arlington, VA and supports mission execution by providing, admin, housing, compensation, and other military personnel services within the District One area of responsibility.

Base Boston Personnel Support Department consists of four divisions:

  1. Personnel Services Division (pa) provides a wide variety of services which include Administrative services for personnel assigned to Base Boston and in some special cases, to operational and other units within the D1 AOR, including educational services; Mutual Assistance; HHG; DEERS; and ID Card issuance. They are also responsible for Transient Personnel support for operational afloat units that are tenants of Base Boston.
     
  2. Morale, Well-Being and Recreation Division (pm) (MWR) manages the MWR facilities onboard Base Boston including the All Hands Club and Function Hall, gymnasium, fitness center, and Cuttyhunk Recreation Facility. Oversees MWR functions for the benefit of all authorized users in New England.
     
  3. Servicing Personnel Office (SPO) Division (pp) maintains and updates personnel data records as well as investigating and resolving personnel and pay issues for various assigned commands in the New England Area, Sector Hampton Roads, students and East Coast Recruiters.
     
  4. Housing Division (ph) is responsible for managing all facets of Coast Guard Housing in the First Coast Guard District Area of Responsibility including owned/leased housing, Unaccompanied Personnel Housing (UPH), and Representational Facilities (RFs). Locally, the Housing Office is responsible for Housing Referral services, the Rental Partnership Program (RPP), and an 80 room UPH.
