Facilities Engineering

The Facilities Engineering Department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and material readiness of Base Seattle and local government owned housing. The Base Seattle shore plant consists of 630k square feet of buildings, structures, and waterfront facilities located on 25 acres at Pier 36, and two housing units including District 13 Commander’s Representational Facility. Facilities Engineering is comprised of four divisions: Public Works, Environmental, Safety, and Engineering and Management.

The Base Seattle Facilities Engineer (FE) is accountable to the Commanding Officer for all matters pertaining to facilities management, including the design, construction, maintenance and material condition of roads, grounds, structures, utilities, and related equipment onboard base. In that capacity, the FE maintains liaison with tenant commands, obtaining relevant information concerning their plans and requirements to use as a basis for facilities planning and programming.
