The Base Alameda Force Protection Officer (phone 510-437-3822) coordinates the functions of the Port Services Office. The functions of the Port Services Office include assignment of berths, the use of piers, coordination of repairs by the NED Industrial Activity, supplies and fuels, medical and human resource services, communication links and other services of a similar nature.

Logistics Requests (LOGREQ)

Cutters expecting to moor at Base Alameda should notify Port Services of their intent as soon as practical. Arriving cutters should submit a LOGREQ message not less that 3 days in advance of arrival. The LOGREQ should be addressed to:

The visiting cutter should receive a LOGREQ reply no later than 48 hours before arrival. If a LOGREQ reply is not received, call Base Alameda Port Services Officer or the OOD.

  • Coast Guard Island. 37*47’ North 122*15’ west and 5.6 Nautical miles east of Oakland Inner Harbor Reach entrance along Brooklyn Basin South Channel

  • Significant navigations concerns: None noted. The Inner Harbor channel varies from 500’ to 600’ wide.
  • 35 feet of water at MLL
  • Alameda does not experience the strong tidal currents found closer to the Golden Gate
