TDY over 180 days at one location or unit (not back-to-back short-term ADOS):
This would be applicable for when a Service member is TDY (on a TDY order / authorization) away from their PDS at one location or unit for more than 180 days. Requests for a TDY that 181 or more consecutive days at one location should be made before travel to COMDT (CG-1M12). The requests must be made in writing and contain justification for the length of the TDY. When the TDY is 181 or more consecutive days without being authorized or approved, per diem stops on the 181st day (if applicable).
