About the Course

USNSEA provides an innovative blended curriculum that is ideal for E-7 (or E-7 above the cut for E-8) personnel who desire to progress to the next level of the Enlisted Leadership Continuum and further their professional leadership development.

Successful graduation from this academy satisfies the CPOACAD requirements for advancement eligibility to E-8.

Training Objectives

This training provides a unique, quality, professional military education (PME) in a joint environment that develops stronger leaders by preparing them to fulfill their expanded and ever widening roles in the areas of leadership and management and significantly contributes to Senior Enlisted Leader development and motivation. SEA’s academic programming provides senior enlisted personnel with a solid understanding of national security strategy, joint force operations, and leadership skills. Coursework focuses on communications, management, ethics, and mission accomplishment in a global environment.

Prerequisites

  • Be an active duty Chief Petty Officer (or E-7 above the cut for E-8)
  • Have outstanding performance documented (EERs) in Direct Access (DA).
  • Be an excellent representative of the U.S. Coast Guard and present a sharp, trim, and fit military appearance.
  • Be in compliance with Coast Guard weight/body composition standards.
  • Be able to pass the Boat Crew Fitness Test.
  • Be fit for full duty and able to participate in the USN’s fitness program. While not a mandatory requirement, personnel should strive to meet a satisfactory score on the USN Physical Readiness Test and be familiar with its requirements.
  • Have two years of obligated service remaining upon graduation as outlined in the Performance, Training and Education Manual, COMDTINST M1500.10C (series).
  • If selected, must complete Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education EJPME II. (Under Course Catalog tab Select EJPME from Course Prefix of JKO)

Submission Deadline & Guidance

  • Nominations for FY25 are due to DPR-5 by August 15, 2024.
  • Nominations are handled through the members District Gold Badge.
  • Inquire with your Silver/Gold badge about the local nomination process and requirements.
  • Members who have previously attended CPOACAD are eligible to be nominated.
