Environmental Compliance

For more than five decades, the Federal government has administered environmental regulatory compliance and enforcement programs designed to protect natural resources and the public health.  Environmental compliance and enforcement programs are essential in assuring that the regulated community meets the requirements mandated by the law.

The Coast Guard manages many compliance programs including those related to Clean Air, Clean Water, Hazardous Waste, Petroleum Storage Tanks, Chemical Reporting, and Recycling.  The pages linked here provide an overview of these and other environmental compliance programs, and resources to assist Coast Guard units achieve and maintain compliance.

More detailed information about these topics, as related to Shore Infrastructure can be found on SILC's Environmental Management Portal, listed in the below links.  For questions directed at CG-47, email us at our Environmental Compliance mailbox at EnvironmentalCompliance@uscg.mil.
