By helping the Coast Guard better manage configuration, maintenance, supply chain and technical data for its assets, Coast Guard Logistics Information Management System increases asset availability and operational effectiveness while decreasing costs.

CG-LIMS uses commercial off-the-shelf tools to incrementally replace legacy logistics systems and interface with financial and other information systems. CG-LIMS will be an important tool to support the Coast Guard’s logistics business model, including:

Configuration management
Total asset visibility
Bi-level maintenance
Single point of accountability through product line managers

The Logistics Information Management System is the Coast Guard’s primary maintenance software for its HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft fleet. CG-LIMS will support all Coast Guard aircraft, cutters and boats and also several shore-based systems by the end of 2022.
