Acquisition Update: Coast Guard Awards C-27J Deicing, Auxiliary Power Unit Contracts

The Coast Guard awarded two indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts in June for spare and repairable parts to support its C-27J Spartan medium range surveillance aircraft.

The Coast Guard on June 9 awarded a contract to Zodiac Services America LLC and exercised the base-year option for $1.1 million of aircraft deicing system parts. The contract has a potential value of $3.59 million if all four option years are exercised.

The service on June 16 awarded a contract for auxiliary power units to Pratt and Whitney of East Hartford, Connecticut, and executed the first delivery order, worth approximately $1.78 million. The contract has a potential value of $5.3 million if all four option years are exercised.

The parts ordered under both contracts will support aircraft at the HC-27J Asset Project Office in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and Air Station Sacramento, California.
