Eighth national security cutter departs for homeport

Midgett, the eighth national security cutter (NSC), departed today from Pascagoula, Mississippi, bound for Honolulu, Hawaii. The ship will be stationed in Honolulu along with the seventh NSC, Kimball, and fast response cutters (FRCs) Joseph Gerczak and Oliver Berry. FRC William Hart, scheduled for commissioning in late 2019, will also be stationed there. U.S. Coast Guard photo.
