Coast Guard awards C-27J support contract

C-27J Spartan medium range surveillance aircraft


The Coast Guard on April 28, 2017, awarded a contract to support its C-27J Spartan medium range surveillance aircraft to Leonardo SpA of Rome. The current value of the award is $4.6 million, which covers the first year of services. The contract has a potential total value of $16.1 million if all three option years are exercised.

The contract provides technical and logistics support that will help improve the C-27Js’ availability for operations. Under the contract, the HC-27J Asset Project Office in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and Air Station Sacramento, California, will receive access to a field service representative and factory service representative who will provide on-site technical expertise. The Coast Guard will also receive access to technical data and program logistics support at the Leonardo logistics facility in Pomigliano d’Arco, Italy, to help with delivery of parts.
