Coast Guard rescues missing hunter in Mona Island, Puerto Rico
The crew of a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Borinquen rescued a missing hunter July 13, 2018 on Mona Island, Puerto Rico. The 60-year-old man, who claimed to be disoriented, was hoisted aboard the aircraft and transported to the Department of Natural and Resources Park Ranger Station on Mona Island, where he was reunited with his hunting party. The Coast Guard accepted its 16th missionized HC-130J Super Hercules long range surveillance aircraft Feb. 19, 2024, from L3Harris in Waco, Texas. CGNR 2016 was delivered to Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina.


The Coast Guard accepted delivery of its 17th C-130J long range surveillance aircraft Aug. 10, 2023, from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, Georgia. The aircraft will operate out of the Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, until it undergoes missionization at L3Harris in Waco, Texas.


The Coast Guard accepted its 16th C-130J long range surveillance aircraft Nov. 10, 2022, from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Marietta, Georgia. The aircraft will next undergo missionization which encompasses the installation of the Minotaur Mission System Suite and APY-11 multimode radar at L3Harris in Waco, Texas.
