Coast Guard Delivers HC-130J For Minotaur Retrofit

The Coast Guard delivered another HC-130J Super Hercules long range surveillance aircraft to the L3 Technologies Inc. Integrated Systems Platform Integration Division in Waco, Texas, Feb. 28 to undergo replacement of its legacy mission system with Minotaur.
The aircraft, CGNR 2006, will receive installation of Minotaur, which is government-owned and -operated mission system architecture used by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Missionization with the Minotaur Mission System Suite involves modifying the aircraft to incorporate the radar; sensors; and remaining command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance equipment that allows aircrews to gather and process information for transmission to surface and shore operators.
CGNR 2006 previously operated out of Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The location and missionization status of all Coast Guard HC-130Js is now as follows:
