New Radar Contract Announced For Coast Guard C-27Js

As part of the Coast Guard’s efforts to equip the service’s C-27J Spartan medium range surveillance aircraft with components that further enhance mission capability, the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract May 7 to Telephonics Corporation of Farmingdale, New York, for up to 19 Multi-Mode Radar systems. The fixed-price contract is worth approximately $31.8 million.

The Multi-Mode Radar systems are among the specialized equipment needed to missionize the C-27Js and will improve their detection capability.
