The Northeast Regional Fisheries Training Center (NRFTC), Coast Guard Academy (CGA), and MIT Lincoln Laboratories (MIT LL) are partnering to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Automation, and Data Analytics into Living Marine Resources (LMR) operations.

This partnership will assess AI and data automation solutions to enhance the Commercial Fishing Vessel Boarding Report (CG-4100(F)) through an integrated application. The 4100F app automatically inputs information from a scan of operator fishing permits and licenses and generates an immediately shareable final report at the conclusion of the boarding via bluetooth printer or email.

The ultimate vision is to create an "LMR app store" with electronic LMR Boarding Officer Job Aid Kit (BOJAK) app, Fish ID & catch estimation app, and automatically fillable case package forms to support CG Boarding Officers in the field.
