DHS Leader Effectiveness

PRINT  |  E-MAIL

At DHS, effective leadership is a critical element in achieving our mission. Leaders at all levels make a difference every day and everywhere across the Department: on the border, in our waterways, in airports, communities, offices and labs. Our frontline leaders must be able to plan carefully and move swiftly when the call for action, collaboration, resilience, results, and courage is asked of our Department and our Nation. Our supervisory leaders demonstrate courage, skill, and dedication leading others to deliver their very best. Together, leaders at all levels across the Department drive the results that keep our Nation safe, secure, and resilient.

Supported by DHS-specific Leader Effectiveness Competencies and a DHS-wide Leader Effectiveness Framework the Coast Guard ensures that leaders are equipped to drive strong mission performance through training and development options that build essential leadership skills at all levels.
