About the Program
Completion of this course satisfies OPM’s 5 CFR § 412 requirement for executive, management, and supervisory development. This five-day exportable course is designed to provide training to newly hired/promoted civilian and military supervisors of USCG civilian personnel. The course material introduces each new supervisor to topics and requirements they are required to know based upon their new position as a supervisor of civilian personnel.
This online course will start at 8:00 AM Eastern Time and will go until approximately 4:30 PM each day. Students MUST have camera and microphone capabilities to complete the course. Students must participate in the live sessions, or they will NOT receive credit for the course.
The course will be held via live sessions using Zoom Gov. A meeting link will be sent via email prior to the class convening.

Eligibility
This class is required for newly hired/promoted civilian and military supervisors of USCG civilian personnel and should be taken within the first year of employment. Experienced supervisors and managers that are beyond their first year of employment are also encouraged to complete it as soon as possible.

The following convening will be held from 12:00 until approximately 8:30 PM ET to accommodate those who work outside of a reasonable Eastern Time zone course start time (e.g., those working on the West Coast of the United States, Alaska and other places abroad).

Prerequisites
It is recommended members complete the self-pace eLearning Supervisor of Civilians Tier I course (502197) prior to Tier II training. The course may be accessed here - https://www.milsuite.mil/book/groups/uscg-supervisor-of-civilians/overview.
Application Process & Procedures
Please work with your Unit Education Officer to submit an Electronic Training Request (ETR) and sign-up in Direct Access no later than 45 days prior to the start date of the session in which you are interested.
Once your enrollment is confirmed, you will receive orders reflecting your participation in your selected convening.
If you do not receive orders, please check with your Unit Training Officer to confirm your status in Direct Access is “enrolled” and not “requested”.
