Naval Engineering Department

Base Boston’s Naval Engineering Department provides naval engineering and shore infrastructure support under the technical authority of the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) and Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC).  The Department is comprised of active-duty, reserve, and civilian personnel who are geographically distributed throughout our primary service area extending from northern Maine to Tom’s River in New Jersey and west to Lake Champlain in Vermont.

Our highly skilled technicians and trades people provide hull, mechanical, electrical, and ordnance technical support and preventive and corrective maintenance services to the US Coast Guard’s operational units in our service area while maintaining a core capability of engineering expertise and facilities that are responsive to military and domestic contingency mission support needs.
